  • In 1959, the MiG-21 became the most advanced Soviet fighter following World War II. Many MiG-21s are still flying with air forces around the world.


  • MiG combines the last names of aircraft designers Artem Mikoyan and Mikhail Gurevich. Fishbed was the code name used by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).


  • This authentic MiG-21 cockpit was recovered from a scrapyard in Dresden, Germany and was studied at NAS Pax River after being restored and donated by John Padukiewicz.


  • It took more than 2,500 hours of restoration process to make it look the way you see it now.
