WHEELS AND WINGS CAR SHOW

THIS EVENT IS NON-REFUNDABLE.

In the event of cancellation, you may claim the purchase as a tax-deductible donation to the museum. We WILL NOT issue any refunds.

What time is the event?

The show is open from 10:00 to approximately 2:30. We make every attempt to start awards promptly at 2pm, after which cars are allowed to leave. 

How much does it cost?

The event is open to spectators, the admission fee is covered by Museum admission ($10 for adults, $7 Active Duty and dependents/55 and older,$4 for children (5-12), 4 and under are free.

What time can I bring my Show Car?

Gates open between 08:00 and 08:30 depending on our set up progress.  Show cars are expected to arrive PRIOR to 10:00!  The Flight Line can get very tight, so arriving after 10:00 can make show car admission impossible due to spectator crowds, this is a liability concern. 

Where do spectators park?

Parking is available immediately next to the Museum buildings, or down the street at the Expedition Business Park.  Please do not park in front of the businesses on the other side of the Conference Center Building.  See map below for details.

Can I bring a trailer?

Yes, please park the trailer at the end of our Flight Line (see pic).  You may unload your vehicle there, or in the main parking lot, but please leave room for others.  Access the parking area via NAS Patuxent River Gate 1, turning across the median where the cut-through is.

Can I bring an umbrella/pop-tent/canopy?

No, these items present a risk to our aircraft and artifacts.  Please feel free to sit under the wings of the aircraft for some shade. 

Can I bring a large cooler?

No.  Large coolers are not permitted. 

Can I bring my dog?

We gladly welcome Service Animals on the museum grounds.

Will there be food at the event?

Yes!  There will be an assortment of food and/or dessert vendors available throughout the show.

Are there awards/trophies?

Yes!  We have over 35 awards and trophies.  Additionally, there are door prizes raffled off throughout the day for the show car participants.

“Best” and Top 20 Awards are judged, Favorite/Choice Awards will be chosen by sponsors, museum representatives and spectators.
